When most people think of whiplash they immediately think of rear end car accidents and whilst these accidents do have the potential to create a whiplash injury there are far more common ways to suffer this type of spinal damage.
Whiplash injuries are complex and can create a significant amount of damage to spinal discs, joint cartilage, muscles, ligaments, nerves and even the spinal cord itself. Often the damage caused by a whiplash injury will not become evident for weeks, months or years after the accident and therefore it is vitally important to address whiplash injuries ASAP.
In this presentation Dr. Matthew Watkinson will discuss
- The ways in which whiplash injuries occur (you will be surprised to hear that whiplash can occur in car accidents where the speed is below 10kph.)
- How to recognize if you or someone you know has suffered whiplash.
- What is a whiplash associated disorder (WAD) and why most WADs are misdiagnosed.
- What to do if you or your children suffer a whiplash injury and how to prevent whiplash from ruining your life.
